The university has now entered into cooperation agreements with five other companies in the field of transport and logistics at the Faculty of Transport, Sports, Tourism and Media at the Salzgitter campus.
The “Study with partner companies” model now includes: Waggonbau Graaff (Elze), TÜV Nord System – Railway Technology Division (Hamburg/Hanover/Braunschweig), InterEngineer GmbH (Wolfenbüttel/Kollmar), Stadtbus Goslar and IGT-Inbetriebnahmegesellschaft Transporttechnik mbH (SZ-Lebenstedt). the lecture-free periods, the internship semester and the
In this model, the student research project and Bachelor’s thesis are completed at the partner company. Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Marco Brey describes this as a win-win situation for everyone involved: “Students are integrated into the companies from the first day of their studies and benefit from a regular income in addition to direct practical experience. And the companies have another opportunity to establish lasting contact and counter the growing shortage of skilled workers in the future-oriented mobility and transportation sector.”
The course is set for the future
While students started this year on the degree courses “Industrial Engineering Mobility and Transport” and “Mobility and Passenger Transport Management”, the course is set for the future in the winter semester 2024/25: the content of the degree course “Industrial Engineering Mobility and Transport” will be sharpened and consistently geared towards the needs of the industry.
